Fears mount for abducted elderly Perth couple in Burkina Faso

An Australian man held hostage in Africa says an elderly Perth couple who run a hospital in the north of Burkina Faso that were abducted by suspected Islamic extremists would be in shock over their ordeal.

Obama Hails Implementation of Iran Nuclear Deal

US president Barack Obama has hailed the implementation of last year's nuclear deal with Iran, even as his administration revealed new sanctions against Iranian companies and individuals linked to a ballistic missile test.

Mr. Obama hailed the use of US diplomacy to achieve the recent agreement, and the release of five Americans in a prisoner swap with Tehran.

US military reveals numbers of casualties after air strikes in Iraq & Syria

Air strikes on ISIS targets may have killed 8 civilians and left 3

Search Efforts Continue For Crashed Marine Helicopters

White House defends Iran Nuclear deal as 'implementation nears'

The White House says the Iran nuclear deal is a clear example of how a diplomatic approach can enhance national security.

The comments from administration spokesperson Josh Earnest on Friday come amid tensions between the two nations after Iran briefly detained US sailors who had drifted into Iranian waters.

Implementation of the nuclear agreement is expected to happen in the coming week although the exact date has yet to be announced.

Alshabaab reportedly drove a car loaded with explosives into the African Union base before the bombs went off. 

A heavy fight broke out at the base with Kenyan soldiers.

LONDON POLICE HUNT HEIST GANG MEMBER

London police admit they are still searching for clues to the identity of a man involved in the biggest burglary in British legal history.

On Thursday three men were convicted of involvement in the $20m heist in London's Hatton Garden jewellery district last year.

Four ringleaders had already pleaded guilty to playing a part, and they all face jail.

But one man is still on the run.

The gang gained access to a lift shaft, before drilling through a metre-thick concrete wall to get into a vault, ransacking dozens of safe deposit boxes for jewellery and valuables.
