Opposition gains supermajority in Venezuelan elections

Final election results show Venezuela's opposition have won 112 of 167 parliamentary seats - a super majority that would allow it to push through reforms - and even force out President Maduro. Elena Casas reports from Caracas.

Putin Orders Coal Delivery to Ukraine

Russia's president Vladimir Putin has asked his government to resume coal supplies to Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukraine had resumed energy supplies to the annexed Crimean peninsula after weeks of an energy blackout.

Rebel fighters leave Homs suburb under UN deal

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says around 800 people are due to depart the Syrian city of Homs throughout Wednesday under a ceasefire deal reached with the government.

Negotiators at the COP21 UN Climate Change Summit in France are pushing hard to secure a draft deal by Wednesday afternoon.


The draft agreement on global climate promises would then be used as the basis for a final round of talks to thrash out a firm deal by Friday.

Russia says it hit ISIS with submarine-launched missile for the first time

Sources Report Yahoo Will Not Spin Off Alibaba Stake

FIFA Vice President Agrees To Extradition To US

FIFA Vice President Juan Angel Napout, head of the South American
Football Confederation CONMEBOL has agreed to be extradited to the U.S
in a soccer corruption probe. Napout was detained on a US warrant in
Zurich last week for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for
selling marketing rights to international soccer tournaments.

US House votes to implement visa restrictions

US to investigate after reports of Iran launching ballistic missiles

US Ambassador Samantha Power addressed reports that Iran allegedly
launched a ballistic missile in November. If verified, the action

Mexican drug cartel member sentenced in the U.S.


A member of the international drug ring by infamous king pin "El Chapo" has been sentenced by a US federal court to 17 years in prison.

A court in the state of New Hampshire has found Rafael Humberto Celaya Valenzuela guilty of trying to expand drug the cartel's reach into the United States.
