EU threatens Greece with exit from border free zone over migration crisis

The European Union says it could suspend Greece from its border-free Schengen zone if it doesn't increase its response to the refugee and migrant crisis.

Over 700 thousand people have crossed its border this year and EU officials are frustrated with Athens for refusing to accept support.

NATO invites Montenegro to become member despite Russian objections - [updated]

Montenegro will begin the process of joining NATO after foreign ministers from the alliance extended a formal invitation at a meeting in Brussels. 

The accession of Montenegro unifies almost the entire northern Mediterranean coastline under the NATO alliance. 

The move is already prompting strong responses from Russia which has condemned NATO expansion and says it will be forced to take retaliatory measures.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the Montenegro's invitation to join NATO is part of NATO's commitment to the region.

Negotiations well underway at Paris Climate Summit

Climate change negotiators in Paris are getting down to business on the third day of a 12 day summit.


World leaders have now left the conference centre and negotiations are well under way to try to reduce a 50 page document down into a more manageable agreement proposal.

‘Mein Kampf’ to be published in Germay again

Adolf Hitler's controversial book Mein Kampf will be published again in Germany for the first time since the end of the second world war.

NATO invites Montenegro to become the 29th member of the military alliance

The NATO has invited Montenegro to become a member as the foreign ministers from the alliance meet in Brussels. 

Russia has stated that It considers NATO enlargement as a provocation. 

NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg says the decision to invite the Balkan nation to join is "not about Russia".

Russia holds funeral for pilot shot down by Turkey

NATO Pledges Support for Turkey and Afghanistan

NATO continues to show its solidarity with Turkey as the diplomatic row between Ankara and Moscow continues.

As the NATO foreign ministers meeting continues in Brussels, the 28 member country alliance also is vowing to keep thousands of troops in Afghanistan to help bring stability and security to the country.

Zuckerbergs celebrate daughter's birth with huge charitable give-away

The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is now a father.


Along with his wife Priscilla Chan, he's announced the birth of a baby girl called "Max".


Marking their new arrival, the couple also say they plan to donate nearly all their shares in Facebook to charity.

Cuba reinstates travel restrictions on doctors

Cuba has reinstated travel restrictions on doctors who want to leave the island, in an effort to stop medical professionals from choosing to work in the US.

New York City's salty food warning now in effect


In a city known for waging public health battles on soda, trans-fat and smoking, 

the New York City health department now has its sights set on... salt.


Under a new city-wide law, large restaurant chains are now required to notify diners if a menu item contains more than the recommended daily sodium intake of 2,300 milligrams.

VW sales down 25% in US

Car sales in the United States for the month of November are up and
point to a possible record-breaking year for the US auto industry.

US Marine jailed over killing of transgender woman

A U.S. Marine has been convicted over the death of a transgender woman in the Philippines.  

A court in the country's capital found Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton guilty of killing the woman last year outside a U.S. Navy base near Manila.
