Turkish PM Says He Will Not Apologize to Russia

Turkey says it will not apologize for the downing of a Russian jet, despite calls for one from Moscow.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says his country has every right to defend its airspace and territorial integrity.

Ever since Turkey shot down the jet last week, NATO has stood by member country Turkey.

But at a meeting with Prime Minister Davutoglu at NATO headquarters on Monday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed again the need for both countries to use diplomacy to ease tensions.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg praised Turkey for it's willingness to have discussions with Russia.

OBAMA: WORLD 'UNITED' AFTER PARIS ATTACKS, AS COP21 BEGINS

Climate talks have opened in Paris with dozens of world leaders in attendance.

The goal is to secure a long-term deal to cut global carbon emissions.

In the run-up to the COP21 summit, some developing countries insisted the targets expected to be agreed over the next two weeks could still see catastrophic damage.

Central to discussions is a potential deal to limit global warming to 2C above pre-industrial levels.

Addressing the summit, US President Barack Obama said the presence of around 150 world leaders demonstrated part of the response to the terrorist attacks in Paris which killed 130 people.
