US issues worldwide travel alert in wake of Paris attacks

The US has issued a worldwide travel alert, warning of possible terrorist action in a wide variety of different countries throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

One of last Northern White Rhinos Dies in California

One of the world’s last four remaining northern white rhinos has died in a zoo in California.
The northern white rhino population was devastated by poachers seeking their prized horns, and was declared extinct in the wild in 2008.

FRANCE BOOSTS MILITARY CAMPAIGN AGAINST ISIS

Air strikes are being launched from French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle from Monday, after it was deployed following the Paris attacks which killed 130 people.

ARRESTS IN BELGIUM ANTI TERROR RAIDS

Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam remains at large after a series of anti-terror raids in Belgium.

Belgian authorities say 16 people have been arrested in 22 raids in the capital Brussels and the city of Charleroi.

Salah Abdeslam was not among those detained - he's suspected of being one of the attackers who killed over 130 in Paris, and is thought to have fled to Belgium.

Brussels remains at the highest level of terror alert and schools, universities and the metro system are closed.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has visited the Bataclan concert hall in Paris where at least 89 people were killed in the attacks on the city, as he holds talks with French President Francois Hollande on combating the Islamic State.
