Pres. Obama calls on China to stop work in South China Sea

U.S. President Barack Obama is calling on China to stop sand reclamation and construction projects in the South China Sea.

He made those remarks at the Asian-Pacific Economic Committee meeting in Manila, after talking with Philippines President Benigno Aquino.

FRENCH OFFICIALS: SAINT DENIS RAID OVER

French officials say a seven-hour raid on a flat in a Paris suburb is now over, with two people killed.

One of them was a female suicide bomber who blew herself up.

Seven arrests have also been made.

The raid was targeting Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged mastermind of Friday's attacks on Paris which left 129 people dead.

His whereabouts remain unclear.

French President Francois Hollande says aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is now en route to boost military operations against the Islamic State in Syria.

Downing Street denies vote plan for Syria air assault

Russia, France to coordinate action against the Islamic State

Russia has intensified its airstrikes campaign in Syria after it was made public that it was a bomb that brought down its passenger jet in Egypt last month killing all 224 people on board. US state dept: Syrian refugee vetting process 'stringent, lengthy process'


The resettlement of Syrian refugees continues to be a major political issue for the US.

26 States and counting have now said they will refuse the entry of Syrian immigrants in light of the recent Paris terror attacks.

The Obama Administration had already pledged to open the door to 10'000 Syrians this year and criticised the anti-refugee response sweeping America.

Boston: Passenger held by police after flight crew interference

Pentagon: No Civilian Casualties as US Hits Oil Tankers in Syria

The US Defense Department says there were no civilian casualties during the bombing of 116 oil tankers in Syria being directed by the Islamic State organization. 

Prior to the attack the US dropped leaflets warning the tanker drivers to abandon their vehicles.

The Monday offensive represented an intensifying campaign to cut off the sources of funding for the terrorist group.
