GM pay $900 million to end criminal investigation
investigation in connection with faulty ignition switches in a number
of its vehicles.
The automaker has been accused of failing to disclose the problem
which has been linked to the deaths of at least 124 people.

All Eyes On US Federal Reserve Ahead of Interest Rate Decision
The US Federal Reserve is set to announce later on Thursday whether the time has come to start raising interest rates, which have been held near zero for almost seven years.
A decision to hike rates would raise the costs of Americans' mortgages and credit cards, but could also have an impact on global stock markets.

Drones pose a risk to prison security
There were nine attempts to use drones to infiltrate prisons in England and Wales in the first five months of the year according to the group which monitors prisoners, which says the devices are an increasing threat to security.

Texas teen arrested over home-made clock invited to White House by Obama
A teenage schoolboy who was arrested by the authorities in Texas after taking a home-made clock to school has been invited to the White House by President Obama.
The parents of 14 year-old Ahmed Mohamed say he was dragged out of his school in handcuffs, simply because he's a Muslim.
