US presses Russia on military build-up in Syria

The White House warned Russia against building up its military presence in Syria. US Secretary of State called his Russian counterpart to stress that Moscow's help to Damascus "risks exacerbating" the civil conflict in the country. Daria Bondarchuk reports from the Russian capital.

Australia confirms it has completed bombing raids over Syria

The Australian government has confirmed it was part of the air strike force that hit targets in Syria this week.

UN General Assembly Begins in New York


The 70th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly is getting underway in the New York City this Tuesday.

The annual gathering of hundreds of heads of state and government will last until the 6th October, and will feature addresses from leaders including Pope Francis.

Robust retail sales data ahead of Fed meeting

Retail sales in the United States ticked up 0.2% last month aided by
strong auto sales.

North Korea says main atomic reactor 'operational', threatens US

North Korea says its main nuclear reactor has been restarted and is once again operational.

The announcement from the Korean Central News Agency also said the secretive state would launch a nuclear attack against the US and it's allies if provoked.

Britain's inflation rate dropped to zero per cent in August according to official figures, possibly further postponing a rise in interest rates by the Bank of England.

Hungary to criminalise ilegal migrants

Hungary has introduced new laws to criminalise illegal migrants after closing a key entryway in to the EU from Serbia.

Donald Trump Holds Massive Rally in Dallas, TX

GOP front-runner Donald Trump addressed thousands of supporters at a rally in the US city of Dallas, Texas Monday, just two days before he will appear center stage for a second Republican presidential debate.
