Connecticut Supreme Court outlaws death penalty

All inmates on death row in the state of Connecticut, have been spared execution.

The state did away with the death penalty three years ago, and the Supreme Court has ruled that it would be unconstitutional to take their lives now.

UN chief demands zero tolerance peacekeeper policy

It follows allegations peacekeepers in the Central African Republic

Retail sales point to US economic growth

The United States Commerce Department has released July's retail sales
figures suggesting the US economy is continuing to show signs of
strength.

Consumer spending is seen as the major driver of the US economy and
this data could help persuade the Federal Reserve to raise interest
rates as early as September.

Tunisia Attack hits Tui Travel Group's Profits

Travel operator Tui, owner of Thomson and First Choice, has announced it expects around 20 million pounds (31m US  dollars) to be knocked off its annual profits.

US markets slide on Chinese currency devaluation
