North Korea: 'no Iran-type nuclear deal with US possible'

Suspect identified in Turkey suicide bombing

Authorities in Turkey have identified a suspect in the suicide bombing which killed 32 people near the border with Syria on Monday...

That's according to the country's Prime Minister, who was speaking at a press conference near the town of Suruc, where the attack took place...

Russia puts forward rival MH17 draft

Russia has put forward a rival draft resolution on the investigation into the downing of Malaysia airlines flight MH17 in July 2014 over Russian-backed militant held territory in eastern Ukraine.


It comes after Russia criticised a draft resolution put forward by Malaysia, Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ukraine for a U.N. backed tribunal.

100 Million Dollars to Seek Signs of Intelligent Life beyond Earth

Man’s quest for discovering life on other planets is getting a 100 million dollar boost from a Russian entrepreneur turned Silicon Valley billionaire. 

The project was announced at the Royal Society of London where Funder Yuri Milner was joined onstage by a group of the world’s leading scientists, including Stephen Hawking.

Gold price falls as US dollar gets stronger

Cuba's human rights record under scrutiny as diplomatic relations restored with the US

The US government says it will continue to press Cuba over its human rights record, after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

After more than half a century of isolation, Cuba has reopened its embassy in Washington DC, and US secretary of State John Kerry will visit Cuba next month.

Critics of the resumption of diplomatic relations say Cuba has a poor human rights record. White House spokesman Josh Earnest says Washington will carefully monitor how Cuba behaves in future.

Cuba and the United States have entered a new era with the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest says American diplomats who will be based in Havana will be championing trade between the two countries. The Cuban flag now flies over an embassy in Washington for the first time in decades.

The United States and Cuba have restored diplomatic relations which were cut back in 1961.

US Defence Secretary tries to improve relations with Israeli

United Nations back Iran deal

The United Nations Security Council has backed a deal between Iran and
the world's major powers to curb the country's nuclear program in
exchange for sanctions relief.

The Security Council vote was part of a deal struck in Vienna last
week and will only come into effect once the UN see proof Iran is

Blast in Turkey kills at least 27 people
