U.S. Jobless Claims Hit Highest Level Since February
their highest level since February, signaling a slowdown in the labor
market. The US Labor Department Thursday said applications for
government support rose by 15,000 for the week of July 4, but
economists say overall the labor market is firm.

The whole of the London Underground network, known as the tube, has been closed down due to industrial action by workers over a pay dispute.
Londoners haven't seen a strike like this since 2002. And the British Government estimates the daily cost of a Tube shut down is more than 50 million pounds.
