Criminal Charges for Balloon-powered Lawnchair Stunt

A Canadian man who flew a balloon-powered lawnchair over Calgary has been charged with mischief causing danger to life. 

He told police it was a marketing stunt to promote his cleaning products company.

IMF tells Greece it cannot help countries who are in arrears

The White House has urged Greece and its creditors to agree reforms and financing to get Greece back on the path to economic growth and debt sustainability.

Meanwhile the International Monetary Fund has reminded Greece that under its arrears policy it cannot provide funds to countries that have missed payments.

eurozone, as Monday saw indexes stage a comeback after early losses.
Stocks fell sharply at the open after Greece voted against their

an overreaction from US markets.

EU creditors await fresh Greece bailout proposal


The Greek government is finalising its plans for a new bailout proposal to present to creditors and EU officials in Brussels on Tuesday...

Thousands celebrate Kramatorsk liberation

Thousands have taken to the streets of the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk to celebrate the first anniversary of its liberation by government forces from Russian backed militant control.


It comes amid near daily accusations by both sides of violations of the latest ceasefire in eastern Ukraine signed in February.

EU leaders consider next steps for Greece

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande are meeting in Paris today to consider the outcome of Greece's Sunday referendum which saw 60% of voters reject the terms of an international bailout.

A spokesman for the German government said both leaders are unanimous in their opinion that the will of the Greek citizens should be treated with respect.

Celebrations in Greece as No campaign wins referedum

There have been scenes of celebration in Athens after Greek voters rejected an EU bailout package that was tied to economic reforms.

With nearly all the votes counted figures show more than 61% of voters sided with the No campaign.

Although the referendum means potential volatility for global financial markets, the No campaign has seen the vote as a victory of the people.
