CHARLES VISITS IRELAND

Britain's Prince Charles is beginning a royal visit to Ireland on which he will meet Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams.

It's the first meeting meeting in the Republic of Ireland between a Sinn Fein leader and a member of Britain's Royal Family.

Sinn Fein is the biggest nationalist party in Northern Ireland and was previously known as the political wing of the terrorist organisation the IRA.

On Wednesday Prince Charles will visit the village where his great-uncle Earl Mountbatten was killed in 1979 by an IRA bomb.

Irish history expert, Professor John Tonge says it's an important moment.

DEUTSCHE BANK LOOKS AT UK EXIT IN CASE OF BREXIT

Deutsche Bank says it is reviewing whether to relocate parts of its UK operations to Germany if Britain leaves the EU.

The bank has set up a working group to look at its options.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has promised an in-out referendum on EU membership by 2017.

But calls are now growing for him to hold it as early as next year.

Danny Cox of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown says Deutsche is a significant employer in Britain.

Two BASE Jumpers Die in Yosemite

Legendary extreme rock climber Dean Potter and companion Graham Hunt have died in a BASE-jumping accident at Yosemite National Park in California. 

BASE jumping is essentially parachuting from a fixed structure or a cliff, and it is illegal in the US national parks.

Kerry Appeals For Support on Major Trade Deals

Returning from a trip to Seoul and Beijing, US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to make a strong appeal passage of pending trade deals.

Obama Announces Ban on Sale of Military Kit to Local Police

US President Barack Obama has used a trip to New Jersey to announce a ban on the sale of some kinds of military equipment to local law enforcement agencies.

Armoured vehicles, bayonets, grenade launchers, camouflage uniform and large calibre weapons and ammunition will be included in the new regulations.

Obama administration concedes Ramadi's fall is "a setback"

The Obama administration says that the fall of the Iraqi city of Ramadi to Islamic State is a "setback", but a spokesman says the President has always understood that the battle with ISIS would be "long and difficult".


Shi'ite militias, backed by Iran, are now heading to the city in a bid to try and force IS fighters to withdraw.

EU minister agreed military mission against migrant traffickers in the Mediterranean

The European Union has approved a plan to use military force to destroy migrants traffickers boats in the Mediterranean sea.

The controversial proposal is part of a wider EU agenda to tackle to growing migrants crisis as tens of thousands of people board flimsy boats hoping to reach EU shores.

Nearly 2000 people have drowned this year already.

US: Fall of Ramadi to ISIS a 'setback'

The U.S. State department has described the fall of the Iraqi city of Ramadi to the Islamic State, as a 'setback'.

The Iraqi government has scrambled to reinforce its positions, in a bid to fend off the ISIS assault.

But the loss of a strategic city- just 70 miles [110 kilometers] west of Baghdad- has dealt a significant blow to US and Iraqi efforts to battle the group's territorial gains.

British navy dismisses allegations about nuclear sub security

In Britain, a Royal Navy technician says he will hand himself in to police after he criticized safety procedures surrounding the country's fleet of nuclear submarines.


William McNeilly says the Trident nuclear submarines anchored in Scotland are a "disaster waiting to happen".


He's been on the run since publishing an online article alleging serious security irregularities.


The Director General of Britain's Ministry of Defence, Rear Admiral Chris Parry, has gone public to say the allegations are nonsense.

200 arrests made after Texas shootout leaves 9 dead

Nearly 200 people have been arrested in Texas after a shootout between rival motorbike gangs killed 9 people and inured 18 others.


At least one person has been charged with murder, and the authorities in Texas say more arrests will soon be made.

Police in Texas step up security after deadly biker gang gun battle

Police in the US state of Texas are warning biker gangs against heading to the scene of a bloody shootout, which left nine people dead.

Nearly two hundred arrests were made following the violent melee, which began at a restaurant packed with members of rival gangs.

Moscow denies troops in Ukraine again after Kyiv says Russian soldiers captured

The Kremlin has repeated its denial that there are any Russian troops in eastern Ukraine.


The statement comes after Kyiv said its forces had captured two Russian soldiers near the front line between Russian backed militants and Ukrainian forces.

RAMADI IN ISLAMIC STATE HANDS AS SHIA MILITIA SENT TO CITY

Iraq's government has reportedly sent Iran-backed Shia militias to attempt to recapture the city of Ramadi from the Islamic State.

Ramadi was seized by militants at the weekend after Iraqi forces fled their positions.

The city is the capital of Anbar province and only 110km west of Baghad.

US Secretary of State John Kerry says he is 'convinced' Ramadi will be recaptured.
