Israeli PM meets IDF Soldier 'beaten' by police

Israel's Prime minister has met with the Ethiopian Israeli soldier at the centre of a storm over police brutality.

Violent protests broke out in Tel Aviv after a video emerged allegedly showing officers beating Damas Pakedeh.

The victim was wearing his army uniform at time of the assault.

Growing criticism of foreign donations to Clinton Foundation

The Clinton Foundation is facing increasing criticism over the amount of money coming from foreign donors and what role those funds may have in Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Former HP CEO Carly Fiorina Enters White House Race (WRAP)

FBI identify gunman in Dallas attack

The FBI has identified one of the two gunmen killed in a Dallas suburb as they attacked an art exhibition featuring images of the prophet Mohammed.


30 year-old Elton Simpson was known to authorities and had previously identified himself as an "American Muslim".


He's believed responsible for a string of Twitter messages threatening to launch an attack in Texas.

Amnesty International declares Russian artist 'prisoner of conscience'

Nearly 6000 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean over the weekend

Rescue missions in the Mediterranean sea have saved at least 5 thousand 800 migrants form flimsy boats over the last weekend alone.

Tens of thousands of migrants - fleeing poverty and persecution - are paying large sums of money to be trafficked from the Libyan coast to reach European Union shores in hope of a better life.

North Korea's titular head of state to travel to Moscow instead of Kim Jong Un

North Korea's titular head of state will travel to Moscow instead of the country's leader Kim Jong Un, for commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War Two in Europe, according to state media.


The trip would have been Mr Kim's first since taking power in 2011.

Curfew, State of Emergency end in Baltimore

An overnight curfew has been lifted in Baltimore, one week after violent protests broke out in the city over the death-in-custody of  25 year old Freddie Gray.


Six police officers are now facing charges in connection with the African-American's killing.


And the city's authorities are coming under criticism for keeping the curfew in place for so long.

Smartphone App Helps Preserve Evidence of Police Abuse

As protests over police violence spread across the United States, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) of California has started using a smartphone app to evaluate and preserve evidence of potential police abuse. 

The app allows witnesses to record videos of police officers they believe are violating civil rights and send them directly to a local branch of the ACLU for review.

Celebrations in Baltimore after police are charged with Freddie Gray homicide

People in Baltimore are celebrating the news that 6 police officers in the city have been charged in connection with the killing of a 25 year-old man who suffered a spinal cord injury while in custody.


The charges include murder, and false imprisonment after the authorities said police had no reason to arrest Freddie Gray in the first place.

US leaders respond to charges against police officers

US President Barack Obama says it's vital that the truth surrounding the death of a young  black man in the custody of Baltimore police comes out.

The American leader was speaking following news that six local police officers face criminal charges in relation  to the case.
