9 DAYS TO GO UNTIL UK VOTES

9 days until the UK General Election, the Liberal Democrats are setting out the 'red lines' they wouldn't allow to be crossed if they are to join another coalition government.

Lib Dem leader and current Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg knows that if his party performs above expectations it could be needed by either the Conservatives or Labour to form a government.

He's calling for a 'stability budget' to be passed within the first 50 days of the next parliament.

It comes with some polling suggesting Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservatives may be pulling ahead of opposition Labour.

However, other surveys suggest Labour maintains a slim lead, but still well short of what would be required to win a majority.
