Six soldiers killed in Ukraine

Four Ukrainian solders have been killed in eastern Ukraine as their vehicle was hit by pro-Russian separatists on Sunday. On Saturday, two other soldiers were reportedly killed in a mine explosion near Donetsk. Anya Ardayeva reports from Moscow.

Inquiry into leaked SNP memo

A government inquiry has begun in the UK after a memo was published allegedly showing the leader of the Scottish National Party suggesting she wants David Cameron's Conservative Party to remain in power...

The memo - published in the Daily Telegraph - is reported to outline a meeting between SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon and the French Ambassador.

Hillary Clinton could be set to announce Presidential campaign

Hillary Clinton has reportedly signed a lease on office space in the
New York borough of Brooklyn that is likely to be the headquarters for
her 2016 Presidential campaign.

She has not yet said that she's running for President, but this means
an announcement is imminent.

Death Row inmate freed from jail in Alabama after 30 years

A man who spent 30 years on death row in Alabama has walked to freedom after prosecutors dismissed the case against him.


Ray Hinton was convicted of the murders of 2 fast-food workers in 1985, but the case against him has now fallen apart.

Israeli cabinet unites behind Netanyahu over opposition to Iran deal

Top Israeli ministers have rallied behind Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to express their opposition to the framework deal reached between world leaders and Iran in Switzerland this week.

The Israeli prime minister has told President Barack Obama that the agreement threatened Israel's existence.

President Obama has called the deal historic, but faces stiff opposition in Congress.

Mr Netanyahu slammed the deal saying it increased the chances of a 'horrific war' in the region.

Sailor missing for over two months is rescued

An American man, missing at sea for 66 days, is recovering from his ordeal.

A US Coast Guard helicopter picked up Louis Jordan from his disabled sailboat around 320 kilometres off the US east coast.

The 37-year old had reportedly survived on rainwater and fish that he caught.
After his rescue he spoke with his father by phone, in a conversation released by the US Coast Guard.

U.S. Employment report well short of estimates

The United States Labor Department has released its most disappointing
monthly jobs report for 15 months with the economy only adding 126,000
jobs in March.

While the unemployment rate remains at 5.5% this figure raises
questions over whether this is a temporary dip or part of a longer
slump.

Investigators have recovered new data from the flight recorder of Germanwings flight 9525 that supports the theory that the co-pilot crashed the plane intentionally.

Ukraine signs new short term gas agreement with Russia

Ukraine has signed a new short term agreement to buy natural gas from Russia at a lower price.

Terror suspect extradited from Pakistan to US

Framework For Final Iran Deal Reached in Lausanne

Iran and six world powers have reached the framework of an agreement to curb Iran's nuclear program, after long talks in Switzerland.
