US employers add 257,000 jobs in January

INTRO :
The US Labor Department reported Friday that 257,000 jobs were added
in January. This marks the 11th straight month of job gains above
200,000 - the longest streak in a decade. The report also revealed
that wages have rebounded, which analysts say could mean the Federal
Reserve reconsiders a mid-year interest rate hike

Political row in USA leads to slow cooker killing

US enhances ability to rescue aircrew bombing ISIS

The United States has taken steps to improve its ability to rescue any downed pilots flying bombing missions against the so-called Islamic State.

It was a demand of the United Arab Emirates following the capture by the extremist group of a Jordanian pilot, who was subsequently killed.

The UAE suspended its combat sorties and urged the US to position search and rescue teams closer to the action.

Obama poised for congressional battle over authorization for IS war

U.S. President Barack Obama is poised to ask Congress to authorize his war against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

Barack Obama has so far been relying on presidential war powers invoked by President George W Bush after the September 11th 2001 terror attacks on the U.S.

But critics say Congressional authorization for this president's war is long overdue- and not at all certain.
