The International Monetary Fund is hoping to finalize debt relief to the three major Ebola-hit nations.

World Health Organization officials say the fight against the virus has now reached a "turning point".

But the nations will lose business worth up to 1.6 billion dollars this year, according to the World Bank.

The IMF's Deputy Spokesperson William Murray says he hopes the additional help will be approved soon...

Euro falls on ECB's quantitative easing announcement

The European Central Bank has announced a landmark 1.1 trillion euro injection into the Eurozone's weak economy.

The long expected move follows similar action by the US's Federal Reserve back in 2008 as well as the Bank of Japan who've undertaken big bond buying programs to stimulate spending.

European Central Bank outlines quantitative easing measure.

The European Central Bank has announced its long expected programme of quantitative easing which it hoped will inject around one trillion euro into the eurozone.

Government bonds reaching 60 billion euro will be purchased by the ECB every month until the end of september 2016.

It means National Central Banks (or NCB's) will be exposed to more risk.

Interest rates will remain unchanged  at 0.05%.

Inflation is still expected to remain very low - with some countries facing a deflationary situation.

The US and the UK have successfully used quantitative easing measures since the financial crisis of 2008 to boost their economies.

The eurozone's economic powerhouse, Germany, is opposed to the measures being implemented - fearing potential losses could negatively affect taxpayers.

Yemeni unrest blocks US administration from repatriating Gitmo detainees there

The Obama administration has reportedly ruled out sending Guantanamo Bay detainees to Yemen because of the volatile security situation there.

President Barack Obama had approved repatriating detainees to Yemen some two years ago, but concerns about Al-Qaeda's Yemeni branch allegedly put the brakes on that plan.

There are also concerns Islamic State militants have extended their reach into Yemen, where government troops are fighting rebels trying to take control of the capital Sana'a.
