UK MAN ARRESTED OVER PLAYSTATION HACK

A British man's been arrested over denial-of-service attacks on Sony Playstation and Xbox over Christmas.

The arrest comes amid a joint investigation by UK cybercrime officials and the FBI.

John Kerry visits Paris

US Secretary of State John Kerry is in Paris meeting with the French President to express his condolences for the terror attack which took hold of the capital city last week.


His visit came as 12 new arrests in connection with the killing of 17 people were announced by police.


The US has been under fire for not sending a senior figure to Sunday's Unity march in Paris and Mr Kerry pledged to support France, saying the US shares the country's pain.

Beagle2 robot found on Mars

A missing robot, that was meant to touch down on the planet Mars in 2003 has apparently been found on the planet's surface.


Scientists have long assumed that the Beagle2 had been destroyed in a high-velocity impact when it tried to land on the Red Planet, as no radio contact was ever made.

Belgium terror investigation ongoing

Belgian Police are continuing their investigation into a terrorist cell which was planning to carry out attacks on Police targets.

It comes after a night of raids in Belgium which saw two suspects killed in the town of Verviers.

One raid in the city of Brussels found explosives and police uniforms - there were many arrests made across the country.

The group are thought to have been imminently ready to carry out attacks on targets in Belgium

So far no links have been made with the Paris attacks last week.

Belgium's federal prosecutor Eric Van Der Sypt says many of the suspects are thought to have fought in Syria.

Australian nurse airlifted from Sierra Leone to the UK

An Australian nurse has been airlifted to Britain from treating Ebola patients in West Africa - although she has not been diagnosed with Ebola.

The move is a precautionary measure, triggered by a clinical incident at a treatment centre in Sierra Leone.

BELGIAN POLICE ARREST 13 SUSPECTED JIHADIS

Belgian police say 13 suspected jihadis were arrested in raids which saw two further suspects killed.

The country is on high alert after raids in the eastern town of Verviers, and in the Brussels region.

In Verviers the two suspects were shot dead after opening fire on police with automatic weapons.

12 wounded in clashes over Russian soldier in Armenia

At least twelve people have been wounded in clashes between protesters and police in Armenia.

FRENCH POLICE 'ARREST 12 OVER PARIS ATTACKS'

Police in France have reportedly arrested 12 people over suspected links to last week's attacks in Paris that killed 17.

They're said to be being questioned over whether they extended 'logistical support' such as guns or weapons to the gunmen.

French media reports raids were carried out in five towns in the Paris region.

US Secretary of State John Kerry is in Paris for talks with President Francois Hollande.

SWISS EXPORTERS WARN OVER CURRENCY HIKE

Swiss exporters are warning are warning they may lose $5bn as a result of the shock abandonment of the cap on the Swiss franc against the euro.

The Swiss National Bank announced it was removing the cap on Thursday, having had it in place since September 2011.

It led to a sharp rise in the value of the Swiss franc, and a sharp fall in Swiss shares.

It's now feared many Swiss companies will struggle to maintain export levels in the face of a higher currency.

Two Die in Belgium Raid on Suspected Terrorists

Two suspected terrorists have been killed in a raid by Belgium police and a third has been injured and arrested.

Officials say they were targeting a suspected terrorist cell in the town of Vervier,  where they believed individuals were planning attacks.

The raid appears to be part of a series of actions by police across the country to target Islamists who have fought in Syria.

Cameron 'To Push Obama on Cyber Security'
