Charlie Hebdo to feature Prophet Mohammed on cover

French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo is printing its next edition featuring the prophet Mohammed on the cover, following last week's terror attacks by two gunmen who killed 12 employees.

The cover's headline also reads "All are forgiven".

South Sudan's factions pledge accelerated peace process

South Sudan's warring factions have pledged to accelerate the country's peace process after talks in Khartoum that were mediated by China.


The two sides have agreed to hasten attempts to form a transitional government in South Sudan, after a year of fighting that has killed tens of thousands of people.


Retired US diplomat Marc Wall says China's decision to broker the talks are a further demonstration of Beijing's influence in the region.

Air Asia investigation continues via two black box recorders

Indonesian search and rescue officials say they are still determining how to recover the fuselage of an Air Asia Airbus 320 that crashed in the Java Sea last month with 162 people aboard.


They've now retrieved both the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder, which could yield valuable clues about why the plane crashed.


Indonesia's transport minister is Ignasius Jonan.

Next edition of Charlie Hebdo heads to printers

The next edition of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo is being prepared for publication on Wednesday, with a print-run of 3 million copies.

The magazine will hit news-stands just a week after the Paris attacks that left 17 people dead, including a dozen at its offices.

Meanwhile there are calls for European counties to work more closely together on counter-terrorism.

The head of the EU's law enforcement agency Europol, Rob Wainwright, says the sheer number of radicalized young men in Europe makes more terror attacks possible.

25 000 JOIN DRESDEN PEGIDA RALLY

25 000 people have joined an anti-Islamisation rally in Dresden in Germany, called following the attacks in Paris.

However, tens of thousands also joined anti-Pegida rallies across the country.

Pegida's anti-Islamisation rallies have been growing in size since the movement was founded in October last year.

Justin Hagler, a journalist in Dresden, says the increasing numbers are also being matched by increasing condemnation.

FRENCH MPS GATHER WITH NEW CHARLIE HEBDO DEPICTING MUHAMMAD

French MPs are gathering in Paris for the first time since terror attacks which left 17 people dead.

It comes with magazine Charlie Hebdo preparing to release a new edition, with a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

Three million copies of the magazine will be printed for release on Wednesday after 12 people were killed in an attack on its offices by Islamist gunmen.

Funerals are taking place in Jerusalem of four victims of the attack on a Kosher supermarket.

Thousands of police and troops have been deployed to Jewish schools in France.

Interpol places Ukraine's former President on wanted list

Interpol has placed former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich on its wanted list, almost a year after he fled power and went to Russia.


Ukrainian officials accuse him of stealing millions of dollars of public funds.

Haiti earthquake five years on, UN remembers victims, as recovery faces continued challenges

It's been five years since the devastating earthquake in Haiti took the lives of thousands, including more than a hundred United Nations personnel.

US Central Command Social Media accounts hacked

The U.S. military's Central Command twitter account has been hacked- seemingly by Islamic State militant supporters.

British nurse with Ebola "no longer critically ill"

Microsoft criticizes Google for bug vigilantism

Pakistani school where Taliban killed 150 reopens as Kerry visits country

Pakistani children have returned to the school in Peshawar where Taliban gunmen killed 150 of their classmates and teachers last month.

UN hoping for breakthrough at Libya talks

UK REVIEWS TERROR LAWS AFTER PARIS ATTACKS

The UK is reviewing its terror preparedness and responses if faced with attacks like those seen in Paris last week.

Prime Minister David Cameron has chaired a security meeting which agreed events in Paris should be considered in future UK training exercises.

Cuba releases prisoners as part of deal with US

Cuba has reportedly completed the release of prisoners agreed to in a ground-breaking deal with the United States.
