North Korea state media warns of war if US doesn't withdraw sanctions

North Korea has threatened war against the United States if it doesn't withdraw sanctions- that's according to the country's state media.

US President Barack Obama authorized sanctions unilaterally against the isolationist regime last week, after US intelligence blamed Pyongyang for a hacking attack on Sony Pictures.

TWO PARIS SUSPECTS 'ROB PETROL STATION'

The two main suspects in the attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris are thought to have robbed a petrol station in north eastern France.

This as it's also reported the getaway car they used in Paris was found to have molotov cocktails and jihadist flags inside it.

12 people were killed in Wednesday's attack on the satirical newspaper.

Meanwhile, a police office has died after she was shot in the south of the French capital - the killer in that incident also remains on the loose.

Natalie Powell is in Paris and says the attack on the service station in Aisne region was reportedly violent.

The people of France have marked the massacre at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday with a moment of silence nationwide.

With security on the highest possible alert, people took to public squares in towns and cities across the country to mark their solidarity with the 12 people killed in the attack.

The bells of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris rang for ten minutes in honor of their memory.

Cartoonists in Europe hit back after Charlie Hebdo massacre

Cartoonists across Europe have paid tribute to their fallen colleagues at the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.


The slogan "Je Suis Charlie" that appeared initially as a social media hashtag is widely used in the work of many cartoonists in Thursday's European newspapers.

POLICE OFFICER DIES AFTER NEW PARIS SHOOTING

A police officer shot in a fresh attack in Paris (on Thursday morning local time) has died.

She was shot at a metro station to the south of the city in an incident which injured another person - the person who carried out this latest shooting is thought to be still at large.

This as police hunt two suspects in the Wednesday killing of 12 people at a satirical magazine in Paris.

Police have made seven arrests of people thought to be connected to the two suspects, while a third suspect handed himself in.

Our reporter Natalie Powell is in Paris and she says the country is observing a day of mourning.

Putin signs decree allowing foreigners into Russian military

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree allowing foreign citizens to serve in the Russian military, according to the Kremlin's website.


Russia has been striving to increase the numbers of professional soldiers in its largely conscript ranks and has been spending hundreds of billions of dollars more on its military.

Number of Migrants to Russia Drops 70 Percent

Police raids underway in Reims, France

French police are conducting anti-terrorism raids in Reims, France, where it is thought the suspects from the Charlie Hebdo shooting have fled.

Twelve people were killed when three men opened fire at the editorial offices in Paris.

UN Secretary General outraged over Paris Shooting

The United Nations Secretary General has expressed outrage over the attack in Paris on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Speaking to UN journalists, Ban Ki-Moon called the attack despicable and a direct assault on a cornerstone of democracy.

His comments come as France and the international community are reeling from the brazen attack that left 12 people dead and 11 others injured.

Londoners gather in solidarity with Paris

Hundreds of Londoners have gathered in Trafalgar Square to show sympathy for the victims of the terror attack at the headquarters of Paris' satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The mood is somber, as people expressed their solidarity with the publication and their horror at the killing, which left 12 dead and 11 injured.

French President Francois Hollande has announced a national day of mourning following the attack on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine which left 12 dead.

Messages of support and offers of help have been pouring in from leaders around the world, as the three suspects remain on the loose in Paris.

The Obama administration is offering the French government whatever help it needs, after 12 were shot to death at the offices of magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

12 dead in French magazine attack

Twelve were killed when at least 3 men attacked the Paris offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The magazine  has repeatedly published cartoons critical of Islam and witnesses told the French police, the attackers shouted, "We have avenged the prophet!"
