The Ebola outbreak which has ravaged west Africa will be over by the end of the year- that's the message from the UN team on the ground.

While conceding the end is not yet in sight, the head of the UN team fighting Ebola has said the number of cases would be brought down to zero by the end of 2015.

The deadly virus has killed nearly 8000 people, mostly in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

But the International Red Cross says volunteer health workers in Guinea are exhausted after a year of fighting the disease.
