Female patient treated in specialist isolation unit

A British health worker who was diagnosed with Ebola once arriving back in Scotland from Sierra Leone is being treated at a specialist unit in London...

The woman has become the first person to be diagnosed with the virus inside the UK.

Nurse treated for Ebola in London

A Scottish nurse who has been diagnosed with Ebola is receiving treatment at a special  unit in London's Royal Free Hospital.


A second person has ben tested for the virus in Scotland, but is thought to be at low risk of having ebola.


The nurse had been working in Sierra Leone and fell ill when arriving back in Scotland as our UK Correspondent Natalie Powell reports

Mayor de Blasio Heckled at NYPD Graduation cermenony

Gmail Traffic Blocked in China

Google’s popular gmail email service has become unavailable in China.
 
Analysts say it’s likely due to an attempt by the Chinese government to limit or even ban access to Google’s services there.

Non Standard landing on Virgin Atlantic Flight

A Virgin Atlantic flight has made  'non-standard landing' and London's second largest airport Gatwick.


A spokesperson for the flight operator confirmed that the aircraft had a technical issue with one of the landing gears.

The search for a missing AirAsia passenger jet between Indonesia and Singapore has become a major international effort.

The Indonesian plane went missing over the Java Sea on Sunday, with 162 people on board now feared dead.

Sony says "The Interview" makes 18 million in opening week

Sony Pictures says its controversial satirical comedy " The Interview" has raked in more than 15 million dollars in online sales- bringing in another 2.8 million dollars at cinemas.

Sony says the film- which pokes fun at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and  sparked a crippling cyber attack on the distribution company- has made as much money online, as it would have done had it been released normally in the movie theaters.

Russia's economy contracted in November

"Suspicious" objects spotted in search for Air Asia plane

Indonesia's Vice President says there is not enough evidence to confirm objects spotted in the ocean are parts of the missing Air Asia flight QZ8501...

An Australian search aircraft reportedly spotted "suspicious" objects near Nangka island, between Sumatra and Borneo and close to Belitung island.

The plane - carrying 162 people - lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday while en-route from Indonesia to Singapore.

Greece forced into snap election

Greece has been forced into a snap general election after MPs rejected a presidential candidate nominated by the Prime Minister.


The news caused jitters on financial markets, with investors concerned that a new government could reject the conditions of Greece's financial bailouts.

New York Police Commissioner criticizes officers' "inappropriate" behaviour

New York's top policeman has heavily criticized the "inappropriate"
behaviour of officers who turned their back on the city's Mayor during
a colleague's funeral.

In a show of disrespect dozens of officers faced the other way when
mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the funeral of one of the two policeman
shot dead in their patrol car.

De Blasio has come under criticism for seeming to side with
anti-police protesters, who have campaigned against the killing of two
unarmed black civilians by white officers.

Speaking to CBS New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton showed his
support for the Mayor and condemned the officers' actions.

AirAsia boss offers support to missing passengers families

The CEO of AirAsia says his company's prime concern is supporting the
families while rescuers search for the missing plane.

The aircraft disappeared with 162 people onboard. So far no wreckage
has been found.

families at the airport in Indonesia from where the plane departed.

Afghanistan combat mission ends

The United States and NATO have formally ended its 13-year combat
mission in Afghanistan.

AirAsia boss calls plane disappearance “worst nightmare"

AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes has called the disappearance of one of his

Missing AirAsia aircraft search called off for night

Rescue operations to find the missing AirAsia aircraft have been
called off the night.
