The accusation comes following Ukraine's announcement earlier this week it is dropping its neutral status and is pushing for closer ties with NATO.

Russia says NATO pushed Ukraine into taking this step.

This all comes as renewed peace talks are set to begin in Minskon Wednesday between Kiev and pro-Russian separatists.

GREEK POLITICIANS IN PRESIDENCY NEGOTIATIONS

Politicians in Greece are heading into a Christmas period of negotiations to try and avoid snap elections.

The Greek parliament failed again on Tuesday to elect a new president.

If it can't agree on a candidate by December 29th, the country will be forced to hold early elections at the beginning of 2015.

Polls suggest such a vote would be won by the left-wing Syriza party which wants to renegotiate the terms of Greece's huge bailout with the European Union and International Monetary Fund.

The FT's Athens correspondent Kerin Hope says the government still hopes to win agreement for its candidate - Stavros Dimas.

Northern Ireland's political leaders reach agreement after marathon talks

Politicians in Northern Ireland have reached a deal on several areas of disagreement which had threatened their power sharing administration.

Political leaders from Northern Ireland's protestant and catholic communities negotiated through the night to meet a deadline following an 11 week process.

On Tuesday  they announced the publication of  a 75-point agreement on welfare spending, the display of British and Irish symbols, and other long-unresolved issues that had threatened their 7 and a half year alliance.

Failure to reach an agreement would have meant that the Northern Ireland Assembly was dissolved and Britain would have resumed sole responsibility for Northern Ireland's government.

Northern Ireland's First Minister Peter Robinson emerged from the talks to welcome the agreement but warn there is still plenty of hard work ahead.
