Belgium paralysed by strikes action

Belgium is experiencing a nationwide strike that's paralyzed the country's entire airspace and stopped all public transport links.

The industrial action has been organized in protest over the Belgian government's planned public spending cuts worth over 11 billion euro.

Several people have run from a cafe in Sydney where a gunman is holding staff and customers hostage.

Five people managed to run from the front and side of the building.

A black Islamic flag has been held up to the window of the cafe.

Police negotiators have been in contact with the hostage taker.

U.S. Senate Passes Spending Bill, Government Won't Shut Down

The U.S. Senate passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill that lifts the threat of a government shutdown Sunday. The measure is now on the desk of President Barack Obama, who is expected to sign it into law before Wednesday's spending authority deadline.

UN Members Agree To Climate Deal at Lima Talks

New Kenyan security law slammed
