White House Says It 'Supports Aspirations of Hong Kong People'
US officials concede fence-jumper penetrated deep inside White House

The Washington Post, citing three officials familiar with the incident, says the knife-carrying intruder made it all the way to the historic East Room of the building before being subdued by members of the Secret Service.

Syria Foreign Minister Blasts U.S. "Dual Policy" Of Combating Terrorism
"dual policy" of striking at some militants in Syria, while providing
others with training, weapons and money, when he addressed the United
Nations General Assembly Monday.

militants in eastern and northern Syria, al-Moallem said U.S. support
of rebel groups in that region creates a "fertile ground" for the
growth of extremism in that region.
